Respiratory & Sleep Physician
Dr Clarissa Susanto is a Respiratory and Sleep physician with extensive experience in managing both general and complex conditions, including airway disease, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, respiratory infections, respiratory failure, and a wide range of sleep disorders such as sleep-related breathing disorders, hypersomnolence, parasomnias, and insomnia. She is accredited to perform bronchoscopy, including endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), and pleural procedures at Sutherland Hospital and Hurstville Private Hospital.
A graduate of the University of New South Wales, Dr Susanto completed her general and specialist training at Royal Prince Alfred, Prince of Wales and Concord Hospitals. After obtaining her FRACP, she was appointed Clinical Medical Superintendent at Concord Hospital, where she played a key role in training and mentoring junior doctors while refining her expertise in complex respiratory and sleep medicine.
She is currently a Staff Specialist in the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Sutherland Hospital and continues her strong commitment to medical education as Co-Director of Physician Education for the St George/Sutherland Basic Physician Training Network, as well as serving as a local examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) clinical examination.
Known for her compassionate approach, Dr Susanto values open communication and takes time to educate her patients, helping them to understand their condition and treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their care. She is fluent in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
